Call of Duty: Ghosts is een actievolle FPS met multiplayer-elementen ontwikkeld door Infinity Ward, een buitengewone stap vooruit in deze iteratie van de franchise, een nieuwe dynamiek waarin spelers aan de zijde staan van een verzwakte natie die niet vecht voor vrijheid of gerechtigheid, maar simpelweg om te overleven. • Tien jaar zijn verstreken sinds de grenzen van Amerika en het evenwicht van de mondiale hegemonie voorgoed veranderden. Jij en je squad zijn wat overblijft van de nationale speciale eenheden, een mysterieuze groep genaamd “Ghosts”. Voor het eerst in de serie nemen spelers de rol aan van de underdog, in de minderheid en met minder vuurkracht.
• In de multiplayer kun je je eigen soldaat creëren met behulp van het nieuwe “Create-A-Soldier” systeem, waarmee je hun uiterlijk kunt aanpassen met 20.000 mogelijke combinaties, het meest flexibele en uitgebreide systeem in de geschiedenis van de games. Het nieuwe contextuele leun-systeem stelt spelers in staat om rond obstakels te leunen zonder een knop in te drukken. Je kunt ook 20 nieuwe killstreaks vrijspelen, zoals Juggernaut Maniac, de Helo Scout, de Vulture en de ODIN Strike, en nog veel meer.
• De Squad-modus stelt je in staat om samen te werken met zes andere mensen of met AI-teamgenoten en een nieuwe coöperatieve ervaring te beleven, waarbij de persoonlijkheid van de AI-squad-leden kan veranderen afhankelijk van het wapen dat je ze geeft – een sniper rifle zal zich gedragen als een sluipschutter, terwijl iemand met een SMG snel en schietend zal bewegen.
